Relocalise Hepburn donates to Chile Reconstruction

Investing in Local Resilience, a Living University

The Hepburn Relocalisation Network has donated US$6000 to Ecoescuela El Manzano to support the construction of new homes in the village for earthquake victims, and longtime poor residents. The homes are currently under construction, made of local materials close at hand and recycled from quake damaged buildings.

The El Manzano team and community would like to thank you in Australia for your contribution. We see this on the one hand as aid, and on the other as a direct investment in the resilience of a local community. You can read more anout the construction here on this website or see videos here on youtube.

The HRN is a community group from Hepburn and Daylesford in Central Victoria, Australia. They say this about themselves ''We recognise the urgent realities of peak oil and climate change and are responding by raising awareness about how these issues affect our community, and how we can respond to these realities with a plan for the future.''
