The Permaculture Institute of Chile is now offering the supportive framework of the Permaculture Design Diploma.
After 25 years of permaculture education we have found that only 10-15% of students who do a Permaculture Design Course take the deep dive into sustainable living. During the course every student takes a good long look over the edge, but many hold on to the shore, clinging to the safety of what they know to be true. We imagine a world where everyone is a change maker, knows that they can change the rules of the game. We need to increase the number of students who make a jump into sustainability. The diploma process is one way of doing this.
The Diploma offers students a two year journey of support, process and design advice to get them going on a lifelong learning pathway. The diploma is a self-directed course of study based on action learning. Students show how they have applied permaculture ethics and principles in their own lives as they develop a project to create action, change and increase understanding for themselves and the wider community. The PDC is a prerequisite. For further information contact javiera@ecoescuela.cl.
