Pocos días después de volver de Brasil facilitamos una reunión en El
Manzano para establecer un Instituto de Permacultura en Chile. Decidimos tener
una reunión abierta e invitar una gran variedad de gente de Chile. Algunos
estaban nerviosos de que algún personaje con un gran ego pudiera llegar y
tratar de controlar los procedimientos… les hicimos tomar este riesgo. La noche
anterior hablamos con Rodrigo, Carolina y Jorge y los invitamos a juntarse con
nosotros para facilitar. Les explicamos el proceso y pasos claves de planear
para la acción y el concepto de grupos llenos de líderes. Yo decidí tomar un
paso atrás y apoyarles a facilitar en vez de liderar el proceso. Estaba un poco
nervioso, pero hicieron un trabajo fantástico. Pudimos desarrollar una visión y
una misión, explorar una cultura, hacer una sesión de brain storming para
encontrar objetivos claves y organizarnos en grupos de trabajos. Se nos acabó
el tiempo y no pudimos avanzar al siguiente paso que era el de identificar,
ponerle horario y delegar las tareas mas importantes. Todos se fueron muy
entusiasmados. Pronto viene un instituto.

Permaculture Institute Meeting 

A few days after arriving home from Brazil we facilitated a meeting at El Manzano to develop a Permaculture Institute in Chile. We decided on an open meeting with a broad invite to everyone in Chile. Some were nervous that big egos might arrive and try to control proceedings...we coaxed them to take the risk. The night before we talked with Rodrigo, Carolina and Jorge and invited them to co-facilitate. We explained the process and key steps of action planning and the concept of leaderfull groups. I decided to take a big step back and support the crew to facilitate rather than lead the process. I was slightly nervous, but they did a fantastic job. We managed to develop a vision and mission, explore a culture, brainstorm some key objectives and organise into initial work teams. We ran out of time to make the next step into identifying, scheduling and delegating key tasks. Everyone left with a great deal of enthusiasm. An institute is coming.
